Spring is an amazing time to visit Japan especially to see the beautiful sakura flowers and spring festivals near Tokyo.
From late February, the countryside starts to come alive in colorful pink and green. After the Plum flowers announce the start of Spring, then Sakura (read our Sakura guide here), Wisteria, Nemophila, Azaleas follow, transforming the countryside into a beautiful landscape.
Also, spring is a great time to go cycling or visit a sake brewery to taste their fresh seasonal sake, or go strawberry picking!
Finally, if you are visiting Japan in February or March, somedays can get a bit chilly so we recommend bringing a set of warm clothes of finding something at affordable shops such as UNIQLO
