Kumagaya City is a convenient city with a wide range of Western style hotels near the station.
There are not many Japanese style Ryokans in Kumagaya.

From Tokyo Station
Via the JR Jyoetsu or Hokuriku Shinkansen
From Tokyo or Ueno stations in Tokyo, take the Jyoetsu or Hokuriku Shinkansen (Bullet train) towards Takasaki station and get off at Kumagaya station. (Approx. 36min)
Then, walk just 5 min from Kumagaya Station.
Via local train
From the Tokyo area (Tokyo, Ueno, etc.), take the Tokyo Ueno Line towards Kagohara and get off at Kumagaya station. (Approx. 1hour 10min)
Then, walk just 5 min from Kumagaya Station.
From SHINJUKU station
Via local train
From the Shinjuku area of Tokyo (Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akabane, etc.), take the Shonan Shinjuku Line towards Kagohara and get off at Kumagaya station. (Approx. 1hour 10min)
Then, walk just 5 min from Kumagaya Station.

From Higashi Matsuyama IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway
Drive around 25 minutes from the Higashi Matsuyama IC (東松山 I.C) on the Kan-etsu Expressway (Kanetsu Jidoshado).
It can get busy during the Sakura season, so leave plenty of time!
