How to enjoy a Night out in Utsunomiya - train times from JR Utsunomiya station to Tokyo | Utsunomiya Night Guide

JR Utsunomiya (shown above) is the station most used by visitors from abroad as the JR Pass is valid here and it’s where the bullet train (Shinkansen) stops. This is also the station where you change if you are visiting Nikko.

Trains from Tobu-Utsunomiya Station

Tobu-Utsunomiya Station which operates the Tobu line is also in the center of Utsunomiya. Please do not mistake this with the JR station as it runs fewer trains and takes longer to Tokyo. However, if you are willing to stay on the train for 2.5 hours, this is the cheapest way to travel to Tokyo (Asakusa is the last stop).
