Welcome to the Tonoike Sake Brewery. Our sake has won numerous awards at competitions both in Japan and abroad, and we are confident in the high quality of our products.
The Tonoike family has been brewing sake since 1829. In fact, some of the buildings we use today were constructed during the Edo period. Here, we use traditional techniques to produce our sake.
Now, let’s have a look around the brewery.
The large tank in front of you stores well water used for washing bottles and other tasks in the sake brewing process. For sake-brewing water, we draw from three wells that contain snow-melt from the Nikko mountain range.
