From Mito Station (JR Joban Line, exit from the North gate)
[Kairakuen Garden ] *There are two entrances: 1. Omotemon of Kobuntei and 2. East Gate to Kairakuen Garden- To enter from Omotemon of Kobuntei: From the No.4 bus stop at the Mito Station, take the Ibaraki Kotsu bus bound for Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History/Kairakuen Garden. Get off at “Kobuntei Omotemon Iriguchi” and walk 5 minutes.
- To enter from East Gate to Kairakuen Garden:
From the No.4 bus stop at Mito station, take the Ibaraki Kotsu bus bound for Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History/Kairakuen Garden. Get off at “Kairakuen Higashimon Joban Jinja Kita-sando” OR “Kairakuen Joban Jinja-mae” and walk 3 minutes.
OR
From the No. 6 bus stop, take the Kanto Tetsudo Bus bound for Kairakuen and get off at “Kairakuen” and walk 5 minutes.
By Car
- Approximately 20 minutes from the Mito IC on the Joban Expressway
- Approximately 20 minutes from either the Ibaraki Machi Higashi IC OR the Mito Minami IC on Kita-Kanto Expressway
(We highly recommend using public transport due to heavy traffic and limited parking space during the festival)
