The shuttle bus from the South exit of JR Maebashi Station on weekends is 1,500 yen one way.

There are budget business-style Western hotels to choose from, as well as a few luxury art hotels including the Shiroiya Hotel which features many famous contemporary artists from around the world. Towards Mt. Akagi visitors can also find glamping sites.
Most hotels in central Maebashi are Western, but Japanese-style ryokans with onsen baths can be found on the foot hills of Mt Akagi.

By Public Transport
From Tokyo (or Ueno) take the Joetsu Shinkansen (or Hokuriku-Shinkansen) to JR Takasaki Station. Change to JR Ryomo Line to JR Maebashi Station. From there, take the special shuttle bus (1,500 yen) to Akagi Nanmen Senbonzakura (赤城南面千本桜).
From Tokyo (or Ueno) take the Joetsu Shinkansen (or Hokuriku-Shinkansen) to JR Takasaki Station. Change to JR Ryomo Line to JR Maebashi Station. From there, take the bus to Chu-Maebashi Station, take the Jomo Denkitetsudo train to Ogo Station, and take a taxi.

Via Isesaki IC on Kita-Kanto Expressway (2hrs 30min)
40 min drive from Isesaki Interchange (伊勢崎 IC) on the Kita-kanto Expressway (Kitakanto Jidoshado).
