WATANABESAHEI SAKE BREWERY

NIKKO City

Our brewery, Watanabesahei Sake brewery is located only a short walk away (5-7min walk) from Tobu Shimo-Imaichi station and JR Imaichi station in Nikko. The brewery is very convenient if you are traveling from Tokyo to Nikko or Kinugawa Onsen by train.

Nikko is known for its UNESCO world heritage shrines and beautiful lakes, waterfalls, and valleys.

Nikko is a popular tourist destination, so make sure to spend time in the area when visiting our brewery. Here are some attractions near Watanabesahei sake brewery.

World heritage temples and shrines

The shrines and temples of Nikko, together with their natural surroundings are registered as a UNESCO world heritage.

For centries Nikko was known as a holy place of mountain worship. The most famous shrine is the Toshogu shrine which was built in the early 17th century during the Edo period.

HOTSPRINGS (ONSEN)

Nikko is known for its quality hot springs (Onsen). For example there are the Kinugawa Onsen, Okukinu Onsen, and Yunishigawa Onsens in the Kinugawa Area and Chuzenji Onsen and Oku Nikko Yumoto Onsen in the Nikko & Oku-Nikko areas.

WALKABLE PLACES

There are also a few places near the brewery worth checking out. The Nikko Cedar Avenue is recorded in the Guinness World Records as the longest man-made tree avenue (planted 400 years ago!)  and is only a short walk away. There is also Nikko Michinoeki store across from the brewery that sells a wide selection of local gifts, and the Imaichi Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine which inspired the creation of one of our new sake is also very close to the brewery.
