Due to the Coronavirus, there has been a change to the “Night Cherry Blossom Festival”.

1) Change of DATE

It is now from 3rd April (Fri) to 7th April (Tues) (18:30~21:00)
*Was 4rd to 12th April

2) Change of PROGRAMME

The Sakura trees will be lit up at night just like previous years, but there won’t be a stage, no performances, and no Hanami Bento dinner service.

*You can still enjoy the beautiful sakura under the night sky. Local onsen ryokans are OPEN, so if you are planning a trip near Kinugawa please drop by!

*Seats can be booked for 1,000 yen (This includes 1,100 yen voucher to spend at the festival).

*Special sakura hanami dinner box  2,200 yen (Reserved seats).

*Special sakura hanami dinner box and a drink 2,700 yen (Reserved seats).

Unfortunatly, due to the Coronavirus, there won’t be reserved seets, and stalls serving the special sakura hanami dinner box this year.

Every year for a week in early April, when the 🌸cherry blossoms are in their full bloom, the sakura trees in Gokoku shrine and the Onsen shrine are 🔦lit up for visitors to experience a 🏮mystical atmosphere and enjoy Japanese 🎵traditional festival ️music as well as traditional performances by local 👘geisha ladies.

This “Night Cherry Blossom Festival” in Kinugawa Onsen is a great opportunity for overseas visitors to experience the authentic local culture and the beauty of the night sakura in the same location.

Entrance is free, but there is an opportunity to reserve a delicious 🍴🍱Hanami Bento (Dinner box) for only 2,200yen, which includes seating in the reserved area.

While you are there, don’t forget to take a dip in the amazing hot springs (onsens) ‘Kinugawa onsen’ ♨️ has to offer as well 😉.
